I LOVE Brookevangory, Rockerbyebaby, and Glamasaurus LONG TIME.

So late last night I decided to blog.. about what? I can't actually remember now. All I remember is blogger getting stuck, and my internet connection being DEAD. So I gave up.

I didn't even realise this post was here (it was blank.. LONELY.. and pathetic)

But then.. BROOKE (BrookeVanGory ) appeared!

With her super awesome as all hell GORY PANTS! Gory Pants.. are baby pants, somemade from upcycled tee's.. cool tees mind, only the very coolest tees.

These are made from snuggly red fleece, and of course feature a skully!

The store may look like a newly hatched spring chicken, but Brooke's no newbie..

Just check out her feedback on CrossbonesCouture .. or the garters and coozies at CrossbonesCollateral.

You need a coozie for your coffee..

And then came Amber...

Who's store RockerByeBaby (badly IMMITATED, never intmidated) is the ultmate in baby awesomeness. You need punk rock blankies? YOU GET PUNK ROCK BLANKIES! I bought a Hot pink minky/natural leopard snuggly blanket for my friend Kitty's little girl, Brody-Mia, WHO WAS BORN AT 1.30am THIS MORNING!!!!!!!!!... it's the best blanket ever. Kitty LOVED it, and I'm pretty certain Brody will too.

And have you seen these shirts? Seriously... Tori Spelling's son Liam has one, and is seen hanging out wearing it all the time. So it MUST be cool.

And then came Andreanna..

Who's Glamasaurus store is so damn yummers.
Doughnut cufflinks? I THINK YOU NEED THEM!

The best part about Glamasaurus creations, is not actually the super cool dinosaur avatar.. but the fact that it's pretty much all OOAK! And each piece is so daintily detailed! Apples, cupcakes, sweeties, chocolates.. what more could you need to wear? seriously.

And that is how a blog is made...

So. I have a plan

I have a plan. Which came to me via comments from Amber and Andreanna.. (who's names are clickable.. the links will take you to great places. Click them!)

This plan will mean:

Cheaper Rockythezombie items.
A larger range of Rockythezombie items.
TIME TO WORK ON NEW DESIGNS.

Part of the charm of Rockythezombie designs are (or used to be) the fact that they are hand painted. This was important back when I used to paint each one by hand, and then sell it straight off. The individuality of each one was special. But now that's changed, and I paint to order 90% of the time, so I am essentially just painting the exact same thing, with no variation in the design.. because if someone wants a particular thing, they aren't going to want me to change it in to something else.

I've realised (Thanks to A&A) that now may be the time to 'let go' of the hand painting side of things. I have a set few designs which I repeat, some of which get ordered so much that I've painted it so many times that I don't even have to look at a previous one for reference.. I know where every little tiny line goes, and I barely even think about what I'm doing. So essentially, these are just copies of each other with no real variation.

What I need to do:

Finalise some designs. Make them perfect.
Order shirts in bulk.
Make a screen for each design.
Print to order.

I will probably need two screens for each design. A smaller for kids shirts, and a larger for adults.. or maybe I will just do a larger, and the kids shirts will be more print... we'll see how that works out.

Depending on the price of the shirts, and materials.. I can't be sure of the final selling prices yet. But I'm pretty sure I'll be able to sell for reaaally good prices!

I want to get on this NOW.. but I have to go to work first!

Some sort of direction.. Of the organic variety.

This morning I was going to order some organic cotton tee's from my supplier, this would mean that they would arrive promptly tomorrow morning, ready for me to use at the very start of my 5 days I have off work this week. But it can't be :( The postal strikes start again tomorrow which means that although it would ship today.. it wouldn't arrive until Monday, and that's if it's not caught behind another huge backlog of mail.

This is the second postal strike in two weeks, and I have four packages floating around in it.. the first two should easily have arrived by now, but I've not heard from the receipients so I'm pretty sure they're still waiting.

The organic cotton shirts that I am ordering seem so-far so-good. And come in great colours.. black, white, red for the punkers,... ecru, coffee, olive for the eco warriors!.. blue, pink, navy, for everybody else!

I plan to order 2x ecru and 2x Olive (an S & an M) to start with. Their cost is higher.. and with shipping from the supplier, they're arriving already with a cost price of just over £10 ($17), and that's before I've started working on them. I think I can still easily keep them at the same price as the others.

I will see how good they are, how good a reaction they get.. and most importantly how well they sell before I can really decide if this is a good direction for me to take my shirts in.

There's a couple of new designs, plus the classics which will always be there.

I'm thinking of making these as one-offs... as in you buy the actual item in the actual picture, rather than one made to order. But people can still order an exact one in their exact size with their own choice of design. I will need to work out the best way to put this so that people can understand..

These only come in S,M,L,XL .. so sizes will be slightly more limited, but bigger sizes can be made, only they won't be guarenteed organic.

S'all about the Honeypop shops

This post is about how awesome Honeypop is..

Kate has three shops, and an ebay store:

HoneypopRags - For OOAK DIY clothing
HoneypopJewelry
HoneypopGraphics

Honeypoprags on ebay

I own two amazing pieces from Honeypop, one is the most awesome snuggly black sweater made out of the coolest mesh type knit.. and the other is the best shrug I have ever owned. Ever.

And the best part? They're both over a year old now.. and still in one piece, not worn out or falling apart AT ALL, and thats with just normal machine washing/wearing/throwing on the floor/machine washing/wearing/etc

My shrug is hooded, and made from a grey and black zebra stretch knit, and is just the best/awesome/amazing. But now I think I may have found one in her shop that beats it! this one which is in the shop right now for only $40!!!!

If I wasn't trying to save every last penny at the moment to go to Riot Fest in Chicago, I would buy it :( ... it would be perfect, and I could wear it TO riot fest!.. I think I might be talking myself in to buying it anyway. If it's gone when you read this, you know why. Arg I mustn't.

But do you know whats cool!?... There's more than one :) We can all have one as she makes them in all different sizes *yesss!!!*

The shrug in question (and Kate herself):

And another little taste of the talents in this girly's shop:

Jewelry fiddles from Rocky The Zombie!

Recently I've been playing with jewelry. I came across some beautifull lampwork shapes and decided that I HAD to turn them in to pretty necklaces, it seemed such a shame that someone had made each one of these individual shapes over a lamp and they were just left unappreciated for nothing.

.... and then I bought some jewellery findings and finally used the skulls and hearts beads which I bought years ago 'for a future project' ^_^

Along with these new things, I still have the many 'zombie' onesies and ladies t-shirts.
